Huai'an City is situated in the central region of northern Jiangsu Province, downstream of the Huaihe River, and lies along the "Qinling Mountains-Huaihe River" line, which serves as a geographical boundary in China. It is located at 32°43′-34°06′N and 118°12′-119°36′30′′E. It is adjacent to Lianyungang City to the north, Yancheng City to the east, Yangzhou City and Chuzhou City of Anhui Province to the south, and Suqian City to the west. The maximum straight-line distance from east to west is 132 kilometers, while the maximum straight-line distance from north to south is 150 kilometers. The total area is 10,030 square kilometers.
