Huai'an Accelerates Construction of Key Projects
time:2026-11-06

In recent days, Huai'an has seized the golden window for construction, making every effort to accelerate progress and enhance efficiency in key project development.

Construction works for the new energy vessel green manufacturing base project of Jiangsu Kaitai Shipbuilding Heavy Industry Co., Ltd. are progressing in an orderly manner. Phase I of the base was completed in January this year, and the construction focus has now shifted entirely to Phase II. With a total investment of 1.008 billion yuan, the project covers a planned land area of about 104 mu (about 69,333 square meters) and a total gross floor area of approximately 40,000 square meters. Leveraging Huai'an's inland shipping advantages and the development foundation of the Yanhe River industrial belt, the new energy vessels developed and manufactured by the company have gained high market recognition. Currently, there are abundant orders, with customers in multiple provinces along the Yangtze River and the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal. The project is expected to be officially put into operation within the year, filling a gap in Huai'an's new energy vessel manufacturing sector upon completion.

While construction of the new energy vessel project is accelerating, the port hub function of Huai'an continues to strengthen. The construction of the Jiangsu-Anhui-Henan trunk pipeline project is a key national oil and gas infrastructure project. The Huai'an Transfer Station on the trunk line of the Jiangsu-Anhui-Henan Project (Binhai–Lushan) is located in the Chengdong Port Area of Huaiyin, Huai'an Port. The transfer station is responsible for supporting a pipeline totaling approximately 192.6 kilometers in length, traversing four prefecture-level cities and nine counties (districts), with a pipe material demand of around 70,000 tons. Undertaking the pipe handling and logistics support services for this key national energy project marks a breakthrough for the Chengdong Port Area of Huaiyin in Huai'an Port. The support operation commenced in March 2026, with a service cycle of 27 months. Moving forward, the port will continue to leverage its strengths, continuously optimize operational processes, expand sources of cargo from major infrastructure and energy projects, strengthen the hub economy, and contribute to the high-quality development of the local economy.
