Recently, the opening ceremony of the 3rd Cross-Strait "Little Heroes" Red Cross Youth Summer Camp was held at the Xin'an Tour Group History Memorial Hall in Huai'an. Twenty young campers from both sides of the Taiwan Strait gathered in Huai'an to embark on a five-day study tour.
Themed "Joining Hands in Jianghuai to Build a Circle of Unity," the summer camp carries forward the Xin'an Tour Group's glorious tradition of being "young in age but great in ambition, traveling the world with a patriotic heart." It practices the Red Cross spirit of "humanity, universal love, and devotion," and fosters a strong sense of community for the Chinese nation.
The summer camp itinerary spans several cities, including Suqian, Changzhou, Yixing, and Nanjing. Campers will visit the Hometown of Xiang Yu to experience the majestic culture of Western Chu; explore the former residence of Sheng Xuanhuai to trace the origins of the Red Cross Society of China; learn emergency rescue skills at life education bases and disaster prevention centers; visit the Yixing Bamboo Sea and the Nanjing City Wall Museum. They will also visit Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics to witness achievements in science and technology, thus deepening their understanding through heritage exploration, cultural visits, and tech-innovation experiences.
Since its inception in 2023, the Cross-Strait "Little Heroes" Red Cross Youth Summer Camp has become a signature event for youth exchanges between Huai'an and Taiwan. Over the years, the Huai'an Red Cross Society has focused on "meeting the needs of Taiwan-funded enterprises with the capabilities of the Red Cross." It has regularly conducted activities such as emergency rescue training, blood donation promotion, and public welfare assistance for these enterprises. Through dedicated humanitarian services, it helps Taiwanese compatriots in Huai'an feel a sense of belonging and happiness in their "second home."
