Since the beginning of this year, Huai'an City has been fully promoting the construction of a "comprehensive transportation" framework, continuously improving an integrated and interconnected transportation infrastructure system.

The city is improving the quality and expanding the capacity of trunk highways. The construction bidding for the Huaihe River Bridge and its connecting lines on National Highway 344 has been completed, and subgrade construction has started; the Huai'an District section of Provincial Highway 264 has entered the preparation stage for completion inspection and acceptance; construction of the east section of Provincial Highway 331 in Jinhu and the south section of Provincial Highway 264 in Lianshui is proceeding in an orderly manner. Preliminary work for eight projects has been accelerated simultaneously. The project feasibility study report for the urban section of National Highway 205 passed provincial demonstration, and multiple special evaluations for the bypass section of National Highway 233 were completed. Feasibility studies and construction drawing designs for several provincial highways have successively passed provincial review and entered the approval stage.

The water transport network has been continually optimized. The construction of the Shigang Ship Lock for the Huai'an section waterway improvement project of the Jinbao Waterway is being accelerated, and the construction of three bridges, including Baohong Bridge, is progressing in an orderly manner; construction of the ship lock and bridges for the fourth-line ship lock project of the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal in Huai'an is continuing; the feasibility study for the expansion and renovation project of the Yangzhuang first-line ship lock on the Yanhe Waterway has been approved; and the general cargo terminal of the Phase III automated terminal at Huai'an Port has officially commenced operations.

Railway project construction is accelerating. The Huai'an section of the Nanjing-Huai'an Intercity Railway has completed the construction of pile foundations, capping beams, pier bodies, and girder erection, with 17% of the ballastless track finished; construction of the "four electric systems" is in full swing, with 8.5% of the power and traction power supply projects completed and 7.3% of the communication and signaling projects finished; the station buildings in Hongze and Jinhu have basically completed pile foundation and earthwork excavation construction, and the main structure construction is currently underway.

The city is constantly improving its airport support capabilities. The terminal area expansion and renovation project of Huai'an Lianshui International Airport has completed the lifting of the steel roof structure for Terminal 2; the main structure of the comprehensive business building has been capped; and the 110kV substation has completed its main structure construction. The pre-acceptance inspection of the designated supervision site for imported fruit at the airport has been completed, and an official acceptance inspection by the General Administration of Customs is being applied for.
