The 2026 list of "Jiangsu Provincial Demonstration Projects for Characteristic Rural Construction" was recently released. All eight candidate villages in Huai'an passed the comprehensive evaluation and were designated as provincial demonstration projects.

Since this year, candidate villages in Huai'an have thoroughly implemented the requirements for the "Jiangsu Provincial Demonstration Projects for Characteristic Rural Construction." Focusing on "strengthening characteristic industries, inheriting unique cultures, showcasing distinctive landscapes, building livable homes together, sharing quality services, and collaborating on harmonious community governance," these villages have advanced the work through systematic planning, targeted efforts, and solid implementation. From picturesque lakesides to rolling hills, and from revolutionary heritage sites to modern communities, the eight villages each boast unique charms while harmoniously complementing one another, together painting a vivid picture of characteristic rural construction.

Using this as a new starting point, Huai'an will continue to expand the demonstration effect, consolidate and enhance construction achievements, and strengthen long-term management and industrial upgrading. By transitioning from "pilot demonstration" to "long-term normalization," the city aims to transform more villages into characteristic rural areas featuring prosperous industries, beautiful environments, rich cultural heritage, effective governance, and happy residents, contributing Huai'an's strength to the development of a modern "land of fish and rice" in the new era.
