Huai'an Dragon Boat Festival Consumption Unlocks New Vitality
time:2026-06-23

During the 2026 Dragon Boat Festival holiday, Huai'an prioritized the "Happy Huai'an, Secure Consumption" campaign, coordinating commercial, cultural, tourism, and sports resources to drive strong growth in holiday consumption. The sales of 22 key commercial enterprises in the city reached nearly RMB 100 million, up 11.2% year-on-year; the revenue of 36 key catering enterprises reached RMB 12 million, up 6.6% year-on-year.

Subsidies boosted big-ticket consumption. Targeting automobiles, home appliances, and digital products, subsidies were provided at the provincial, municipal, and county levels, covering both online and offline channels. During the Dragon Boat Festival, Huai'an held over 50 key consumption promotion events. A total of RMB 7.41 million was invested in the consumer goods trade-in program, directly stimulating consumption by RMB 20.84 million. A total of 7,000 people participated in the trade-in program, trading in 1,100 cars and over 6,500 sets of home appliances. Policy dividends continued to translate into market growth.

Business districts continued to attract traffic, activating city-wide consumption scenarios. The city issued exclusive Dragon Boat Festival supermarket vouchers, and commercial complexes launched joint promotions. Leveraging the Jiangsu Football City League events to motivate new ticket-stub consumption, business districts saw a continued increase in foot traffic, with simultaneous revenue growth in retail, entertainment, and catering. The triple promotion model of "government vouchers + merchant discounts + event traffic" made the business district economy a mainstay of holiday consumption.

Gourmet food gained popularity, and nighttime consumption thrived. The second-anniversary celebration of the Kejie commercial block in Xuyi drove the occupancy rate of crayfish restaurants to near saturation. The Jinhu Crayfish Food Carnival distributed over RMB 500,000 in consumption subsidies. The ancient town of Jiangba in Hongze District launched round-the-clock activities such as the zongzi making experience, iron flower shows, and fish lantern parades. Outdoor banquets, night markets, and cultural tourism experiences complemented each other, expanding the scale of nighttime consumption.
