The automobile and auto parts industry is a key pillar of Huai'an's advanced manufacturing sector. In the first quarter, 94 automobile and auto parts enterprises above the designated size in Huai'an achieved an output value of RMB 6.71 billion, up 7.6% year-on-year, which was 0.9 percentage points higher than the city's average for industrial enterprises above the designated size. The industry's supporting role continued to strengthen. Flagship enterprises have had a significant impact. In the first quarter, 12 enterprises with an output value exceeding RMB 100 million achieved a combined output of RMB 5.8 billion, accounting for 86.4% of the industry's total.

Currently, 54 automobile and auto parts projects with investments of over RMB 100 million are under construction in the city, totaling RMB 47.68 billion. Two RMB-10-billion projects—Steel Cord of Zenith Steel Group Company Limited and Tires of Gubersail Tyre—are being fast-tracked. These robust investments and large-scale projects are clearly driving industrial expansion and upgrading. In the first quarter, construction of key projects accelerated, driven by improved efficiency. Construction of the fifth steel cord factory of Zenith Steel Group Company Limited began smoothly, with a planned annual production capacity of 280,000 tons. New Technology Group's project, with an expected annual output of 120 million pieces of automotive chassis parts, has started. It will be completed and put into production within this year. 

Huai'an continues to advance its industrial chain development by regularly organizing supply-demand matchmaking and industrial cooperation activities. On January 15, Huai'an hosted an event for autonomous driving equipment scenario development and industry chain matchmaking, bringing together over 30 organizations for field visits and discussions to support the industry's intelligent transformation. In late March, Huai'an organized over 20 key parts enterprises to visit Xiaomi Auto Super Factory in Beijing for inspection and networking, aiming to understand the supply chain entry standards of leading automakers. Huai'an enterprises have been proactive in product promotion and partnership development. Such products as automotive steel of Huaigang Special Steel, gear wheel pumps of Jiangsu Weibo Hydraulic, and aluminum alloy brackets of Shenzhou Automobile have entered Xiaomi EV's potential supplier pool, marking their smooth integration into first-class domestic supply chains and a breakthrough in the city's industrial supporting capabilities.
