Huai'an City's intellectual property cause has reached a milestone—the number of valid invention patents has exceeded 10,000 for the first time, enterprises account for nearly 80% of invention patents, and the number of invention patents per 10,000 people in the city has steadily increased. This breakthrough not only marks a new height in Huai'an's innovation capabilities but also injects strong "smart momentum" into industrial upgrading and high-quality development.
As of the end of March, Huai'an City had 10,032 valid invention patents, an 8.76% year-on-year increase, marking the first time the number has exceeded 10,000. Among them, enterprises had 7,952 valid invention patents, accounting for 79.27% of the city's total valid invention patents; the city had 22.18 invention patents per 10,000 people, an increase of 9.1% year-on-year.
The number of valid invention patents has increased significantly, bringing many positive effects to the city's development: on the one hand, it supports high-quality economic development, with a large number of authorized patents driving more innovative achievements to be transformed into real productivity, injecting strong momentum into industrial transformation and upgrading; on the other hand, it optimizes the regional innovation ecosystem, with the rapid growth in the number of patents attracting the accelerated agglomeration of various innovative elements such as talent, capital, and technology, promoting more cooperation between universities, research institutions, and enterprises in Huai'an City, and accelerating the formation of a good pattern of industry-university-research collaborative innovation.
