Huai'an Reports RMB 137.882 Billion in Regional GDP in Q1

According to the unified accounting results of regional GDP, Huai'an's GDP in the first quarter reached RMB 137.882 billion, up 4.8% year on year at constant prices. Specifically, the value added of the primary industry was RMB 4.805 billion, up 3.7%; that of the secondary industry was RMB 55.879 billion, up 3.5%; that of the tertiary industry was RMB 77.199 billion, up 5.8%.

Agricultural production grew steadily. In the first quarter, the city's total output value of agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry, and fisheries reached RMB 9.68 billion, up 3.6% year on year at comparable prices. Spring plowing and sowing proceeded in an orderly manner, and the area of summer grain crops remained generally stable. Vegetable production reached 1.001 million tons, an increase of 2.4%. A total of 756,700 hogs were slaughtered, up 2.5%; the production of pork, beef, mutton, and poultry meat totaled 102,300 tons, up 5.1%; the production of raw milk reached 27,200 tons, up 5.7%.

Industrial production showed steady growth. In the first half of this year, Huai'an's industrial added value above the designated size increased by 6.5% year on year. By industry category, 20 out of the 35 major industrial sectors recorded year-on-year growth in value added, with a growth coverage rate of 57.1%. Specifically, the value added of the computer, communications, and other electronic equipment manufacturing sector grew by 26.1%, the non-ferrous metal smelting and rolling sector grew by 47.3%, and the food manufacturing sector grew by 42.3%.

The service sector maintained steady and positive growth. In the first quarter, the value added of Huai'an's service industry increased by 5.8% year on year. The operating revenue of service enterprises above the designated size increased by 23.0%. The city received 12.876 million domestic and international visitors, up 13.2%. The total tourism revenue reached RMB 15.142 billion, up 12.8%. The rail passenger traffic reached 4.089 million trips, up 0.1%; airport cargo and mail throughput totaled 2,135.8 tons, up 26.6%; inland river container throughput reached 150,000 TEUs, up 17.0%.
