Poet in the Southern Dynasties: Bao Zhao
Bao Zhao (about 414-466), styled himself Ming Yuan, was a native of Donghai, Song in the Southern Dynasties. His "Yue Fu" poems with five or seven characters to a line greatly influenced the development of the later literature especially poems. Some great poets such as Li Bai, Gao Shi, Cen Shen and Du Fu in Tang Dynasty, all their poetry styles, without exception, were influenced and inspired by him. Literature historians call Bao Zhao "the most outstanding poet in the Northern and Southern Dynasties".
