Huai’an China
Huai’an had the custom of solarizing clothes of various colors on June 6th of lunar calendar. It is said that this custom originates from Tang Dynasty, after eminent monk Xuan Zang got sutras from India, the sutras were soaked by sea water, he solarized the sutras on June 6th. From that time, the imperial palace solarized dragon robes for the emperors, and then the people began to solarize clothes, and this day became a festival, and it was called the Day Present Saves.
