Huaian Airport Expansion Passes Test Flight, Industry Acceptance
The second phase expansion of Huaian Airport has successfully passed the flight and industry standard tests organized by the eastern bureau of Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC).
The trial flight, undertaken by China Eastern Airlines, completed tests on flight procedure, navigation equipment, airfield lighting equipment, and traffic signs and marker.
As a major project in both Jiangsu Province and Huaian City, the expansion has the airfield construction as the important component. The work in five parts, including runway, air control, terminal renovation, fire protection engineering and transformer substation renovation, were placed under review.
An official from the airport said the success in passing the flight test and winning the acceptance meant the second phase expansion is ready for operation. After getting approvals from authorities, the airport will soon be put into use. By then, Huaian Airport will launch the 2,800-meter-long runway and increase the aircraft stands to 15, while the operation abilities will be further improved.
