The 12th Taiwan Entrepreneurs Forum opened at Huai'an Great Theater on August 29th, with the theme of collecting innovation energy and building a smart and innovative city by cooperation.
This forum is organized by the Department of Economy of Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council, the Association of Taiwan Investment Enterprises on the Mainland, Taiwan Affairs Office of Jiangsu Provincial Government, Department of Commerce of Jiangsu Province, Huai'an Municipal Committee of the CPC and Huai'an Municipal Government. More than 600 people including well-known professors, corporate giants and business leaders from Taiwan and Mainland attended the forum. Zhen Shanjie, vice director of Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council, Chen Zhenning, vice governor of Jiangsu Province, Yok Mu-ming, president of New Party (Taiwan), Lin Por-fong, chairman of Chinese National Association of Industry and Commerce, Taiwan, and chairman of Taiwan Glass Group gave speeches on the forum. Yao Xiaodong, Secretary of Huai'an Municipal Committee of the CPC, delivered a welcome speech and gave the keynote speech. Cai Lixin, Acting Mayor of Huai'an, hosted the ceremony.
During the preparation of the 12th Taiwan Entrepreneurs Forum, Huai'an newly introduced 35 Taiwan-funded projects, with the total investment of 1.76 billion US dollars. There were 25 advanced manufacturing industrial projects, accounting for 71.4%, and 6 projects with each investment over 100 million US dollars, accounting for 17.1%. On the forum, 10 projects were signed, with the total investment of 1.3 billion US dollars, which indicated that the cooperation between Huai'an and Taiwan had developed into an unprecedented accelerated period.
