New Public Restrooms Set the Bar Higher in Huai’an

Since 2013, new construction and reconstruction of public restrooms has been a key project of central city construction in Huai’an for the past four years, which has greatly improved toilet conditions and environment.

In May 2017, reconstruction of public restrooms on Hongri Square of Lianshui County began to make restrooms more modern, creating “the fifth-dimension space”.

The first part of “the fifth-dimension space” involved men’s and women’s restrooms and the second part includes adult toilets, kid toilets, a folding baby chair and washing basin, for diaper changing and toilet training.

What really sets public restrooms on Hongri Square apart is the multi-functional service room and self-service health room. The multi-functional room has wifi, a reading room, mobile phone charging station, auto shoe polisher, air conditioner and chairs. The self-service health room is equipped with medical instruments such as full-automatic height and weight measurer, pulmonary instrument, glucose meter, electronic blood pressure meter and body composition analyzer as well as healthy lifestyle intervention tools and publicity materials.

In the last four years, 99 restrooms have been newly built and 125 reconstructed in Huai’an.
