Led by the Communist Party of China, Huai’an people experienced Anti-Japanese War and the war against warlords and the KMT. Some historical sites of the revolutions were left, including the site of Headquarters of Henggou Rebellion, Memorial Hall of Xin’an Corps, the site of Military Headquarters of the New Fourth Army - Huanhuatang, Mausoleum of the eighty-two martyrs, Memorial Tower of Cheqiao military campaign, former site of Central Sub-office of CPC, former site of Jiangsu-Anhui Border Area Government, memorial pavilion of the martyrs of the siege campaign of Huaiyin City and the memorial tower for martyrs of the Defend Campaign of Lianshui.
