Seven more cities in Jiangsu Province - Changzhou, Lianyungang, Huai'an, Yangzhou, Zhenjiang, Taizhou and Suqian- began to launch special license plates for new energy vehicles on April 26, marking the full coverage of the policy in the province.
By the end of March, Jiangsu had issued 30,500 special license plates to the owners of the new energy vehicles.
Different from the traditional blue license plates, the new ones are green, equipped with special marks and made with new techniques and anti-counterfeiting technology. The special plates increase the numbers available from 5 to 6 digits so it can be used to identify more cars in a more scientific way.
The vehicles authorities across Jiangsu also started offering new services. For example, drivers can select their favorite car plate number on the Internet or get a randomly generated one.
