3,900 Seniors in Huai'an Enjoy Mobile Phone-enabled Services

"One touch on the button of the phone and I can enjoy the rich services provided by the government such as life care, housekeeping, rehabilitation nursing or mental consolation," said Zhang, a senior resident who received retirement allowances in Qingjiangpu district of Huai'an City, Jiangsu Province on March 31.
She just received a mobile phone installed with a special service. A total of 3,900 senior residents in need, including those receiving allowances or with physical disabilities and those living alone after losing their children, aged 60 and above, have the mobile phone and access to the home-based pension services from the government.
Three seconds after touching the button on the phone, they will talk directly to people working at the center for aged that offers seniors help in getting meals, cleaning, bathing and other services in their own houses.
