On the afternoon of August 17, Lou Qinjian, secretary of Jiangsu provincial party committee and the director of the standing committee of Jiangsu provincial people's congress, met with Wang Chuanfu, chairman and president of BYD Company, in Nanjing. Ma Qiulin, vice governor of Jiangsu, and Yao Xiaodong, secretary of Huai’an municipal party committee, attended the meeting.
Lou Qinjian welcomed Wang Chuanfu and congratulated BYD Company on the positive progress of its investment cooperation project in Jiangsu. He said, under the guidance of Xi Jinping’s thought on socialism with Chinese characteristics for a new era, Jiangsu had struggled to promote the development of high quality; there are rare opportunities not only in speeding up the transformation and upgrading of traditional industries, vigorously developing strategic emerging industries and building autonomous and controllable modern industrial system, but also in compensating the shortage of traffic infrastructure, strengthening environmental protection, building modern comprehensive transportation system and creating better conditions for development. He hoped that BYD company would have more layout, more investment and better development in Jiangsu in the fields of rail transit, new energy vehicles and in particular, it would carry out planning construction pilot of comprehensive transportation system on the basis of deepening cooperation with Huai’an, make standard demonstration and go ahead in the industry.
After introducing the development plan of the enterprise and the progress of the project in Huai’an, Wang Chuanfu said that Jiangsu has a good economic foundation, obvious geographical advantages and abundant scientific and educational talent resources, so BYD company will increase cooperation with Jiangsu and make positive contributions to high-quality development.
On August 2, 2017, Huai’an and BYD company signed a comprehensive strategic cooperation agreement. On November 7, 2017, BYD company started a series of projects. The two sides jointly set up the promotion and coordination group of projects in Huai’an, which was headed by the deputy mayor and the vice President of BYD company. The promotion and coordination group consisted of several project groups and established an efficient working mechanism. With the joint efforts of both sides, the project of BYD (Jiangsu) Intelligent Manufacturing Industrial Base presents a promising situation of "a new image everyday". At present, the main body of the rail girder plant, the rolling stock plant, offices and staff dormitories has been completed, and other projects are progressing smoothly.
