The opening ceremony of 2018 Huai’an International Semiconductor Industry Forum was held on August 9. Yao Xiaodong, secretary of Huai’an Municipal Party Committee, and Zhang Long, chairman of Jiangsu Advanced Memory Technology Co., Ltd., jointly unveiled the plaque for "Huai’an Advanced International Semiconductor Forum Management Center". Many experts, scholars and entrepreneurs attended the ceremony, including Xie Ming, member of National Academy of Engineering, Li Jiaming, a physicist and member of Chinese academy of sciences, Dong Yunting, director of Strategy Research Center of China Electronic Information Industry Development Research Institute and president of China Electronics Enterprises Association, Song Zhitang, director of national key laboratory of information functional materials of Chinese Academy of Sciences. Gong Huaijin, deputy director of Jiangsu Provincial Economic and Information Technology Commission, and Huai’an municipal leaders Gu Kun and Zhao Quan also attended the ceremony.
At the opening ceremony, Dong Yunting, Song Zhitang and other guests delivered speeches and talked freely about their feelings and views on promoting the industrialization of phase-change storage technology. Yang Jianhui, general secretary of Huai’an Advanced International Semiconductor Forum Management Center, issued the regulations, functions and service scope of forum management center. The forum lasted two days. Members and scientists from the United States, Europe, Japan, South Korea and China gave keynote speeches on the development of the semiconductor industry.
According to the introduction, the semiconductor industry is known as the "jewel on the crown" of the electronic information industry. It is the "pillar of a great power" that all countries in the world will contend for. In recent years, Huai’an has actively seized the major opportunity of a new round of scientific and technological revolution and industrial reform, taking the semiconductor industry as one of the important industries, focusing on attracting upstream and downstream enterprises and research and development institutions, and introducing major projects of ten billion yuan like phase-change memory of Jiangsu Advanced Memory Technology Co., Ltd..The semiconductor memory project of Jiangsu Advanced Memory Technology Co., Ltd. settled in Huai’an in 2016, and the first phase of the project had completed in March this year. At present, equipments has been installed in the factory, and the products will be sold to the outside world next year, which will fill the gap in the design and production of memory products in China.
