time:2018-08-01
Many cities in Jiangsu Province have joined the national charitable initiative by offering unmanned freezers to make life easier for outdoor workers in the hot summer including sanitation workers, couriers, and takeaway delivery drivers.
Self-help freezers have popped up at the entrance of Wanda Plaza and Qingjiang Shopping Mall in Huai'an City, according to reporters on July 30. The equipment was filled with icy drinks, with noticeable words like "free energy supply" on the poster.
With sweat all over his face, a policeman riding a motorcycle came to take water. After drinking a bottle of water in one breath, he told the reporter that he was very grateful to this activity and he felt much cooler to continue his patrolling duty.
According to a staff of the Wanda Plaza, three freezers were put into use from noon on July 29 and by 10:00pm more than 500 bottles of mineral water had been used up, and the number reached to almost 800 the next day.
