Huai'an Leaders Meet with a Delegation of South Korea's Former Ambassador to China

Chung Chong-wook, South Korea's former ambassador to China, visited Huai’an on July 4. Yao Xiaodong, Secretary of Huai’an Municipal Party Committee, met with the delegation. Ou Boqian, Vice President of the Chinese People's Institute of Foreign Affairs, and Gu Kun, Vice Mayor of Huai’an, attended the meeting.
Yao Xiaodong briefed the delegation on the history, economic and social development of Huai’an, and said that Huai’an had always attached great importance to the exchanges and cooperation with South Korea in the process of promoting the development, and Korean enterprises like Hankook Tire and Nepes had settled in Huai’an. He hoped that Huai’an could have more opportunities to cooperate with Korea in the future.
Chung Chong-wook appreciated the warm reception from Huai’an. He said that a lot of people in South Korea knew and respected Zhou Enlai, the former premier of China, who was born in Huai'an. He wanted to write books about Zhou Enlai so that more Koreans could know him and his hometown, Huai’an, and would contribute to the exchanges and cooperation between South Korea and Huai’an in the future.
