A few days ago, the National Forestry and Grassland Administration issued the "notice on the acceptance results of the Pilot Projects of National Wetland Parks 2020". The White Horse Lake Wetland Park passed the acceptance and officially became a national wetland park.

The White Horse Lake is one of ten lakes in Jiangsu Province and one of the 15 key lakes with a good ecological environment in China. The wetland park is located in the waters in the south of White Horse Lake, with a total planning area of 3243.37 hectares. The wetland area is 3016.3 hectares, accounting for 93% of the waters of the White Horse Lake. During the construction period from 2016 to 2020, the White Horse Lake Office (Company) implemented the three major protection measures (water system and water quality protection, waterfront protection, biodiversity and animal and plant habitat protection), and five key projects (diverting clean water into the lake, returning the polder to the lake, dredging and purifying the lake, habitat restoration and ecological protection and restoration). The measures and projects strengthened the protection of wetland resources and improved the water environment and water ecology.
