On the morning of November 19, Huai'an-Wuhan Container Express was officially launched. With the sound of whistle, the foreign trade train with full load of goods slowly sailed out from Huai'an New Port, and will pass along the Yangtze River via the Beijing-Hangzhou Great Canal to Wuhan International Container Terminal. The goods will be sent to all parts of the world through the convenient express service of foreign trade containers. The opening of the train will become a new bridge to deepen logistics and economic cooperation between Huai'an and Wuhan.
Huai'an-Wuhan Container Express opened this time mainly includes grain, tinplate and building materials. It is operated by Huai'an Xingang Group, two shifts a week, with a voyage of about 6 days. Compared with the original highway transportation, its comprehensive cost can be reduced by more than half, providing better services for enterprises in the two places to reduce costs and increase efficiency.
Huai'an-Wuhan Container Express marks that the strategic cooperation between Huai'an Port and Wuhan Port has entered a crucial stage. It is a concrete manifestation of deeply promoting the development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt, as well as actively responding to the national strategic arrangement "with the domestic cycles as the main body and mutual promotion of domestic and international cycles". Meanwhile, the position of Huai'an Port can be further consolidated, and the intermodal transport of middle and upper reaches of the Yangtze River and the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal can be promoted. Therefore, centered on Huai'an Port and Wuhan Port, a new transportation channel for container logistics will be formed, being conducive to the rapid development of new logistics modes such as "Bulk Cargo to Container" and "Trade Logistics".
