Remarkable Results Achieved in Ensuring Huai'an People's Basic Livelihood in the First Three Quarters

Since this year, Huai'an civil affairs departments at all levels have done a good job in the epidemic prevention and control and the protection of people's basic livelihood, focusing on a well-off society in an all-round way. Through making good and full use of the social security policies such as urban and rural minimum living allowances, assistance and support for the extremely poor, and temporary assistance, the results of poverty alleviation have been continuously consolidated.

Since July 1st, the city's minimum living standard has been raised to 645 yuan, a year-on-year increase of 5.74%. By the end of the third quarter, a total of 44,700 households and 89,900 people had been granted minimum allowances in urban and rural areas. In the first three quarters, a total of 327 million yuan of allowances were issued, an increase of 18.19% year-on-year. Besides, Huai'an has implemented 21,000 person times of temporary assistance and paid 21.2168 million yuan of relief fund, with a growth of 252% and 127.6% respectively, compared with that of last year. The expenditure on funding support to people with special difficulties was 141 million yuan, a rise of 13.7%, involving 21,000 people in total. 4 times of temporary price subsidy were launched with 36.4951 million yuan issued, which benefited 441,300 people in difficulties such as targets of minimum living allowances and with special difficulties, as well as orphans and children without parenting, so as to minimize the pressure on the disadvantaged groups to cope with the rising prices.
