As Huai'an New Port has implemented a reward mechanism for surrounding cities to transfer in Huai'an, more sources of goods have been attracted so that the volume of inland containers has also increased steadily. In August, 24,181.5 TEUs of containers were completed in Huai'an inland river, with a year-on-year increase of 11.78% and a month-on-month growth of 16%. From January to August, 148,479.5 TEUs of containers were completed, with a fall of 1.25% on year-on-year basis, basically keeping up with the same period last year. It is expected that the inland river container transportation in Huai'an will remain a good development trend.

In August, its throughput was 6.4976 million tons, decreasing 8.67% year on year and increasing 5.1% month on month. From January to August, the total throughput was 44.1935 million tons, reducing 13% compared with the same period of last year. The production decline of Huai'an port was obviously slowed down.
