Huai'an Municipal People's Government and Nanjing Agricultural University signed a new agreement to jointly build Huai'an Academy of Nanjing Agricultural University in Huai'an on the morning of August 11. This is one essential measure for Huai'an to carry out the new strategy of constructing Huai'an into "a green highland and a new hub" made by the municipal Party committee and the municipal government, actively improve the modern green industrial system, and enhance the innovation and education in agriculture of Huai'an.

Huai'an Academy of Nanjing Agricultural University, which was established in 2013 by Nanjing Agricultural University and the Municipal Government of Huai'an, has undertaken nearly 30 research projects at and above the provincial and ministerial level. It has made many accomplishments in the past seven years in many areas such as the cultivation of a new breed of pig, the construction of national innovation platforms, the incubation of agricultural science and technology enterprises, etc. These achievements have won many prizes including the first prize of harvest award of agriculture, animal husbandry and fishery, and five second prizes of the science and technology award of Jiangsu Province.

The signing of this agreement will further the in-depth integration of government, industries, universities and research, opening a new chapter for the cooperation between universities and local government. The two sides will deepen their collaborations in education, scientific and technological innovation, resource sharing, social service, and so on, and develop this cooperative relationship into a comprehensive, long-term and stable one. It is hoped that the cooperation will transfer and transform more scientific and technological achievements of Nanjing Agricultural University in Huai'an.
