The first congress of Huai'an Comprehensive Transportation Society was held on the morning of July 22. Shi Heping, chairman of the Comprehensive Transportation Society of Jiangsu, and Cai Lixin, Secretary of the municipal Party committee, attended and addressed the meeting, jointly unveiling the society.

In the congress were elected directors, supervisors, executive directors, vice-chairmen and chairman. Tang Daolun, executive deputy director of the Standing Committee of the Municipal People's Congress of Huai'an, was elected chairman. He emphasized in his speech that more attention should be paid to the "Big Traffic Plan" of Huai'an to make new achievements in the new era. Huai'an Comprehensive Transportation Society is a public welfare organization and a think tank and adviser of the municipal Party committee and government. It focuses on the research on major comprehensive transportation, the effective connection of transportation facilities and the efficient transformation of different transportation modes so as to improve the overall quality and efficiency of transportation, reduce the logistics cost in Huai'an, and enhance its comprehensive competitiveness. It will also continue to improve the internal management system and mechanism, highlight its non-profitness, and ensure the establishment of a smooth and efficient working pattern.

The society, established by merging different societies including the highway society, the transportation and logistics society, the maintenance and driving training society, etc., provides a full range of professional services related to railways, ports, shipping, and intelligent transportation. It has six professional sub-societies of intelligent transportation, highways, transportation and logistics, automobile maintenance and driving training, port and shipping, and railways. This society also incorporates some influential enterprises and experts as its members.
