According to the latest statistics of Huai'an Customs, from January to February this year, the total value of Huai'an foreign trade import and export reached 3.89 billion yuan, down by 12% year on year. To be specific, in January the import and export was 2.74 billion yuan, up by 4.1%. In February it dropped by 35.7% to 1.15 billion yuan, with the 630-million-yuan export, a decline of 55.5% year on year and the 520-million-yuan import, an increase of 41.6% respectively.

This year, the booming of export before Spring Festival and import after Spring Festival is particularly obvious. Because the Spring Festival was during the late January, enterprises all increased their export before holiday, so the city's foreign trade export in January largely increased by 22.6%. In February, despite the impact of epidemic outbreak and the late work resumption, the demand of external orders was still strong. Therefore, enterprises all rushed to buy raw materials for further production. The 41.6% increase of import will surly lay a good foundation for them to resume production after the epidemic is under control.
