International Friendship Cities and Groups Support Huai'an's Anti-virus Fight

At the beginning of this year, the outbreak of NCP, novel coronavirus pneumonia from Wuhan has sparked concerns among thousands of families and attracted worldwide attention. Since the start of the outbreak, international friendship cities and exchange cities, friendship groups and individuals of Huai'an have contacted with Foreign Affairs Office of Huai'an Municipal Government through various means. They have also expressed sympathy for Huai'an over the epidemic and offered their best wishes for Huai'an's victory.

After hearing about the epidemic in Huai'an, mayor of Ikoma City, Japan conveyed his greetings to Secretary Cai Lixin and all Huai'an citizens. He believed that under the firm leadership of Huai'an Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government, Huai'an people will surly win the battle against the contagion. He also expressed his wishes that Huai'an economic and social undertakings would soon return to the normal track. Ikoma government has launched the donations of emergency supply for Huai'an epidemic prevention. 1586 anti-epidemic masks were sent to Huai'an in February 7 and handed over to the Material Support Department of Huai'an Headquarters for NCP Prevention and Control.

Another sister city Sassnitz in Germany have actively coordinated and collected 200 N95 medical masks from its local hospitals and sent them to Huai'an on January 30, although their masks have been also sold out. At present, the city is trying to contact other relevant agencies to help purchase more medical masks. With the support of Bretonnia, a friendship exchange city in Hungary and its mayor, a batch of European-standard FFP3 medical masks have been purchased and will be sent to Huai'an soon.

In addition, other sister cities including Wanju County in South Korea, Płock in Poland, Pernik in Bulgaria, Homyel in Belarus, Magnitogorsk in Russia, and Kashiwazaki in Japan, as well as friendship groups such as Japan-China Economic Association, Tokai Japan-China Trade Center, Anjō Japan-China Friendship Association, Netherlands Trade Promotion Association and Britain-China Trade Association all have made various ways to express their great concerns and support in fighting against the epidemic. Their readiness for help shows that we can joint hands to combat the battle and create a world full of love without borders.
