Philippine Experts Come to Huai'an to Promote the Internationalization of Huaiyang Cuisine

To promote the development of the Belt and Road Initiative and Huai'an's application of UNESCO "Cities of Gastronomy", twenty experts and scholars from the Philippines Chefs Association were invited by Huai'an Business Bureau to participate in international cuisine exhibition and food skills exchange from October 13 to 15, and they cooked various delicacies together with the chefs of Huaiyang cuisine. Ms. Salome San Jose, president of the Philippine Chef Association, who fell in love with Huaiyang cuisine the first time she ate it, praised every dish of this cuisine as a work of art.
The activities organized by Huai'an deepened the exchanges and cooperation of the two sides in education, food culture and other fields. In the future, based on the special fund of "Vocational Skills Exchange" further work will be done in the areas of cultural exchange and skills training of Huaiyang cuisine in the mode of "Chinese education + vocational education". Specifically, international internship program will be carried out to introduce Philippine college students to Huai'an to learn Huaiyang cuisine cooking skills and Chinese pastries making skills. The courses of Huaiyang cuisine cooking and Chinese pastries making will be added to the curricula of the related majors in some Philippine colleges and universities. Huaiyang cuisine cooking skills will be integrated into the training system of Filipino maids, which will facilitate the acceptance of a famous Chinese cuisine by the families in other countries.
