Huai'an municipal government decides to start the linkage mechanism of temporary subsidy of consumer goods price for those who receive unemployment insurance benefits, because the price of vegetables, meat and poultry increased significantly during the National Day holiday, which had a great impact on the lives of low-income citizens.

According to the "Notice on Further Improving the Linkage Mechanism between the Standards of Social Assistance and Security and Price Rise" jointly issued by the National Development and Reform Commission and other departments, the linkage mechanism between the standards of social assistance and security and price rise is initiated if the food price in CPI increases by 6% in a single month compared with the same period of last year. Recently, the Development and Reform Commission of Huai'an issued the "Letter on the Issue of Temporary Price Subsidies" to start the linkage mechanism of temporary price subsidies for unemployment insurance benefits receivers.

The subsidy, a temporary one for the price rise in the National Day Holiday in 2019, totals 23632.31 yuan, which will benefit 4557 people in Huai'an receiving unemployment insurance benefits, and each person can receive a temporary subsidy of 50.83 yuan. A total of 59115.29 yuan will be distributed to 1163 people at the municipal level. All of the eligible citizens will receive their subsidies before October 15.
