China Huai'an Canal Culture and Art Week will Open on September 20

China Huai'an Canal Culture and Art Week and Water-Themed Huai'an Canal Music Festival will open at 19:30 on September 20, 2019 in Huai'an Liyunhe Canal Cultural Corridor. This event is sponsored by the Municipal Government of Huai'an, organized by the Publicity Department of the Municipal Committee of CPC, the Municipal Culture, Radio, Television and Tourism Bureau, and co-organized by the Municipal Culture Museum, Huai'an Canal Museum, Bolansler International Art Center (Qingdao), Beijing Beitu Culture and Art Center, and Jiangsu Baizhong Cultural Development Co., Ltd.

A total number of 1949 canal envoys from the choirs of ten canal cities of Beijing, Hengshui, Jining, Huai'an, Yangzhou, Zhenjiang, Wuxi, Suzhou, Jiaxing and Hangzhou together with Beijing Philharmonic Orchestra will participate in this festival to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the founding of P.R.C. In this festival, different art forms such as flying persons, Chinese operas, intangible cultural heritage performance, chi-pao show, Taijiquan, etc. will be naturally integrated into the background of the Grand Canal in Huai'an, especially the 15-km-long Liyunhe cultural corridor of the Grand Canal so as to represent the beauty of the canal in all-round way. The event aims to create a symbolic music festival for canal cities, promote the development of cultural industries in Huai'an and other canal cities, build a platform for the exhibition and exchange of canal culture, and promote the construction of high-grade cultural tourist attractions.
