time:2019-09-12

Mid-Autumn Festival is coming. As the main venue of this year's CCTV Mid-Autumn Festival Gala, Huai'an Grand Canal Cultural Park has put its main stage into full use, and some programs have begun their rehearsal. The design of the main stage is inspired by the traditional sailboats on the Canal. Huai'an elements are also integrated into some other shows. At present, performers from Huai'an are intensively rehearsing for their shows.

Many Huai'an elements can be found in the Gala. The symphony orchestra from Huaiyin Middle School in Jiangsu Province selects 58 members of different parts to participate in a show's soundtrack. Wu Cheng'en, the author of Journey to the West which is one of China's four great Chinese novels, was born in Huai'an. Therefore, on this year's Gala, performers will sing the theme song of the TV drama adapted from this masterpiece. Luo Yulong, actor from Jiangsu Changrong Jingju Theatre, will be invited to play Suona as the accompaniment. Students from the Music College of Huaiyin Normal University will also play their musical instruments to accompany the performers.

Huai'an performers participate in many programs. In addition to the programs with Huai'an elements, there are many other programs with the festival theme joined by our actors. More than 150 people from the dance department of Music College, Huaiyin Normal University participate in the performance. The exceptional children show presented on CCTV Mid-Autumn Festival Gala for the first time is a sign language performance by 28 children from Huai'an Special Education School and Huai'an Second Special Education School.
