In recent years, Huai'an Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government have taken general senior high school education as an important livelihood project and comprehensively promoted the construction of them. At present, there are 34 general senior high schools in Huai'an (25 public schools and 9 private schools), with 74,300 students and 6,369 teachers in total. There are 704 teachers with postgraduate degrees or above in public schools, accounting for 13.6%. The masses' needs for general senior high schools are constantly met. In the next three years, Huai'an plans to add at least nine general high schools, aimed to relieve educational resources shortage in hot areas with fast population gathering.
