On August 29, 2019, which is the 16th Promotion Day of Surveying and Mapping Law, publicity activities in various forms were held in Huai'an on the theme of "use maps in a standard way". These activities helped to raise the public's awareness of the security of geographic information and national territory, creating a good environment for the development of geomatics.

Promotion centers were established on the publicity day in all counties and districts of Huai'an, and various activities were organized like distributing publicity materials, explaining policies, hanging up banners and displaying exhibition boards. Thus, the public had an opportunity to learn the knowledge of geomatics including the laws and regulations of surveying and mapping, territory, new technologies of geomatics, the development of geomatics in Huai'an, and so on. On the day, more than 4,000 maps were distributed, and 10,000 public welfare text messages were sent, having good publicity effects.
