Yao Xiaodong, secretary of the CPC Huai'an City Committee, made visits to residential communities and resettlement areas in Xuyi, Hongze, Jinhu and Qingjiangpu, all under the administration of the city, to truly understand the efforts to improve housing conditions in the countryside on July 1.
During his visit, he directly talked to farmers and discussed with local residents to gain a full understanding about their concerns.
Improving housing conditions of farmers is a key task of the CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee and the provincial government and related to the vital interests of thousands of families, said Yao. It is necessary to fully respect farmer's ideas, abide by high standards, and let farmers live in modern town life in line with the times.
It's necessary to unify thinking, coordinate planning, accelerate efforts, improve use of fund, adapt to local conditions, and form distinctive characteristics, according to Yao. He also said efforts need to be made to develop industries, expand ways to boost farmer's income, and increase the revenue of collective economy.
