Passenger Throughput of Huai'an Airport Breaks through 1.5 Millon

The passenger throughput of Huai'an Airport exceeded 1.5 million on December 29 as a flight of Chinese low-cost carrier Spring Airlines left the airport for Shijiazhuang City in Hebei Province. The airport's transportation scale has reached a new level.
After the passenger throughput reached one million in 2017, the airport has maintained a good momentum of develop in 2018. Since the beginning of this year, the airport's second phase expansion completed the main project, extended the runway from 2,400 meters to 2,800 meters, added 11 more aircraft stands, and greatly improved the service capability, making it ready to open routes to all domestic cities.
Up to now, the airport has direct flights to 30 cities, and the total number of flights has increased by 27.6 percent compared with the same period of last year.
Meanwhile, with improved services, the airport has been awarded a provincial-level civilized airport. The number of passengers passing through the exit and entry was over 100,000 for the first time, up 70 percent year on year. This development is of great significance for Huai'an's further opening up to the outside world.
Since the start of this year, the airport's cargo and mail throughput has exceeded 6,000 tons for the first time, an increase of 25 percent year-on-year, making a solid step towards building a cargo hub.
