In recent years, with the advancement of ecological comprehensive treatment project, the overall water quality of the Huaihe River and Hongze Lake has been continuously improved. Wetlands in Xuyi County, such as Mao'er Lake Wetland, Longmiao Lake Wetland and Qili Lake Wetland, have become an ideal transit station and habitat for migratory birds such as swans, wild geese and ruddy shelducks.
