China Grand Canal Cultural Week in Huai'an concluded on November 6 with a concert.
Yao Xiaodong, Secretary of the CPC Huai'an Municipal Committee, attended the closing ceremony.
The Grand Canal, spanning over 2,000 kilometers between Beijing and Hangzhou, was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site in 2014. The longest man-made river in the world also passes through Huai'an City.
The cultural week was organized to present the rich culture behind the vast waterway system. It included a photography contest, outdoor performance, the first "Grand Canal Literature" forum, calligraphy and art exhibitions, and opera shows all staged in one week.
