Huai'an Attracts Taiwan Investment with '101% service'
time:2018-11-06
The Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council approved Huai'an City as a service demonstration area to facilitate the industrial transfer and landing of Taiwan-funded enterprises in 2014. The CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee and Jiangsu Provincial Government have determined Huai'an as a southern cluster of Taiwan-funded enterprises, in comparison the northern cluster in Kunshan City, with plans to make Huai'an a role model in offering what it calls "101% service".
A pledge to offer better service, it's called 101% for the inspiration of Taipei 101, the supertall skyscraper on the Taiwan island, as well as the city's area of 101,000 square kilometers.
After years of hard work, the "101% service" has become mature with an innovative service platform – the first Taiwan Business Service Center in the country, a one-stop service hall of 800 square meters, and a complete service system.
The "101% service" is more like a brand and a core competitiveness to attract Taiwan fund to flow to Huai'an. The city has launched more than 1,300 Taiwan-funded projects with a total investment of more than 18 billion US dollars and actual use of Taiwan fund of more than 6 billion US dollars. Today, Huai'an boasts over 1,000 Taiwan-funded enterprises, an industrial output value of 100 billion yuan, and 1,000 Taiwan business people. Huai'an is the only city in northern Jiangsu to be home to over Taiwan-funded enterprises and attract investment over 10 billion yuan.
Among Jiangsu's cities divided into districts, Huai'an took the lead in introducing measures to promote economic and cultural exchanges between Huai'an and Taiwan in this July. The new policy included 58 initiatives, such as about economic and trade cooperation, entrepreneurship of Taiwan people, Taiwan talents, exchanges between two sides and business environment, in order to create the best environment for Taiwan investors and people to start up a business, work, and engage in exchange in Huai'an.
The Huai'an Government Affairs Service Center made it accessible in more than 50 municipal-level functional departments, allowing Taiwan business people to easily get one-for-all service anywhere they visit.
The city also rolled out the "Friday Meeting Room" project this year, which links relevant departments to have face-to-face meetings with Taiwan-funded companies and Taiwan investors to effectively address their concerns in working and life. The project has speed up the solution for problems including environmental assessment, talents demand and driver's license renewal.
