Huai'an Lianshui Airport began the new winter/spring flight schedule on October 28, when new routes from the Jiangsu city to Urumqi, Lanzhou, Quanzhou and Phuket of Thailand completed their first flights on the same day.
This was the first time for the airport to change the flight schedule after it became a member of Jiangsu's newly formed Eastern Airport Group.
Seven new routes were added in the new schedule and the airport has direct flights to 30 cities, operated by 13 airlines.
The airport has teamed up with major airlines to offer big discounts. The airfare for a direct flight to Phuket is only 49 yuan (7 US dollars). Huai'an flights to Ningbo, Lanzhou, Kunming and Urumqi starts from 100 yuan, 190 yuan, 280 yuan and 630 yuan respectively.
