As of the end of August, cargo volume at three major ports—Huangma Port in Qingjiangpu District, Shanyang Port in Huai'an District, and Chengdong Port in Huaiyin District—each exceeded 1 million tons, setting a new record high for the same period in history.
Since this year, Huai'an has continued to improve its port logistics ecosystem, deepen external cooperation, and strengthen the port industry's enabling capacity. An integrated port coordination and resource-sharing mechanism is currently in place. Drawing on the operational experience of Huai'an Port Logistics Group, logistics ecosystem resources—including multimodal transport, customs supervision, shipping lines, freight forwarders, and trucking fleets—are shared across all county and district ports, achieving efficient resource complementarity and synergy.
The efficiency and capacity of multimodal transport corridors have been fully unleashed. Huai'an City has coordinated its "road-rail-waterway" multimodal transport resources and optimized the direct river-sea shipping route to Yangshan Port, operating 28 voyages and reducing total transit time to 60 hours—nearly a 50% cut compared with traditional transport modes. The Huaihe River strategy has been advanced in depth, with the Huaihe River premium route operating 372 voyages, cargo volume increasing by 130% year-on-year, and the capacity utilization rate consistently remaining above 90%.
At the same time, Huai'an is accelerating the deep integration of artificial intelligence (AI) and port operations. Relying on the Zhongchu Zhiyun platform, AI is used to analyze customer profiles, intelligently identify cargo demand, and accurately discover and convert potential clients. By leveraging AI algorithms to optimize transportation routes and allocate multimodal resources, an integrated online-offline smart comprehensive logistics platform has been created. Customized "door-to-door" multimodal solutions have been rolled out to drive down comprehensive regional logistics costs continuously.
