Huai'an Made Steady Progress in Affordable Housing Projects
time:2026-07-31

In 2026, Huai'an City is advancing the construction of affordable housing projects through a category-based approach, focusing on ensuring basic needs, expanding supply, and improving quality. It plans to provide 2,097 new affordable housing units through public rental housing, affordable rental housing, and the renovation of urban dilapidated buildings. To date, 1,495 additional households have received housing support, representing 71.3% of the annual target.

First, Huai'an has ensured basic needs through public rental housing. Adhering to the combination of physical housing allocation and monetary subsidies, Huai'an provides public rental housing or rental subsidies to eligible urban households on subsistence allowances, low- and middle-income families with housing difficulties, newly employed workers without local housing, and migrant workers with stable employment, ensuring that all who are eligible can receive support.

Second, Huai'an has expanded supply through affordable rental housing. By focusing on industrial parks and employment-intensive areas, the city is increasing the supply of affordable rental housing through multiple channels. This helps achieve a balance between work and residence, enabling urban workers to settle down and live in comfort.

Third, Huai'an has improved quality through urban renewal. Prioritizing safety and improving people's well-being, Huai'an is coordinating the renovation of dilapidated houses with the contiguous redevelopment of old urban areas. This effectively eliminates housing safety hazards and improves the living environment for residents.
