Since this year, Huai'an has focused on key links of the industrial economy, optimized its enterprise operation monitoring system, and strengthened proactive services and dynamic assessments for key enterprises and indicators, continuously enhancing industrial development resilience.
Its core indicators showed strong performance. From January to May, the added value of industrial enterprises above the designated size grew by 6.7% year-on-year. Total industrial invoiced sales rose by 7.2%, and industrial electricity consumption increased by 2.6%. The total output value of industrial enterprises above the designated size grew by 8.5% year-on-year, up 0.3 percentage points from the previous month.
The supporting role of leading enterprises was prominent. The city has deepened the implementation of cultivation initiatives for RMB-10-billion enterprises and "Peak Building and Chain Strengthening" key enterprises, while enhancing the "green‑channel" service mechanism. From January to May, the 38 enterprises in the RMB-10-billion and RMB-5-billion cultivation tiers achieved an output value of RMB 72.62 billion, up 12.9% year-on-year. This growth rate was 4.4 percentage points higher than the city's average, accounting for 39.9% of the total industrial output value of enterprises above the designated size.
Growth momentum provided robust support. From January to May, new growth points across the city generated a cumulative incremental output value of RMB 18.64 billion, contributing 10.3 percentage points to the growth of industrial output value above the designated size and providing vital support for the steady growth of the city's industrial economy.
