Spring Consumer Market in Huai'an Is in Full Swing
time:2026-04-09

With the spring break for primary and secondary schools coinciding with the Qingming Festival this year, the spring consumer market in Huai'an is in full swing, and residents are showing high enthusiasm for spending. From April 1 to 6, 21 key retail enterprises in the city generated sales of RMB 170 million, achieving a 13% increase year-over-year; 30 key restaurant enterprises generated sales of approximately RMB 15 million, marking a 7.9% increase year-over-year. New retail scenarios centered on flower-viewing tourism and experiential consumption continue to gain widespread popularity, and combined with the benefits of multiple consumption-stimulating policies, they have fully ignited springtime consumer spending.

The flower-viewing economy is booming across the board. As the peak season for spring flower viewing arrives, urban parks such as Taohuawu and Liushuwan are seeing a surge in visitors. These parks have not only become popular spots for residents to take photos but have also directly driven a simultaneous increase in spending at nearby restaurants and retail outlets. To meet the public's growing demand for springtime leisure activities, major shopping districts have been creating one-stop, immersive experiences that combine shopping, flower viewing, and photo opportunities. By bringing seas of spring flowers into shopping malls, they allow residents to fully immerse themselves in the spring atmosphere without having to travel far to the suburbs.

Experiential consumption continues to gain widespread popularity. Huai'an successfully hosted the second season of the "Sing for Huai'an" concert, which featured a special exhibition titled "Jiangsu Brands and Goods: Huai'an's Finest Products" to promote local time-honored brands and souvenirs to out-of-town visitors, effectively boosting spending by visitors from other regions. The surge in spring outings and consumer spending has driven sustained strong sales in related product categories.

Policy benefits are delivered directly to those who need them most. To effectively stimulate consumer spending, Huai'an has coordinated efforts across its counties and districts to organize more than 100 spring break and spring-themed promotional events. The city has created a collaborative framework for boosting consumption that involves both government and business sectors and spans the entire region, with substantial discounts providing residents with tangible benefits.
