Recently, Huai'an Consumer Council released "12315" complaints and typical cases in Huai'an City in 2025 at the activity site of the consumer rights protection publicity on March 15, World Consumer Rights Day. Last year, Huai'an Consumer Council received a total of 26,800 complaints from consumers and retrieved an accumulated economic loss of RMB 5.1651 million for consumers.

In terms of complaint types, the pain points and difficulties in the consumption field were still prominent, requiring constant attention for solutions. Last year, food safety, after-sales service, and quality problems were the most common complaints, including 5,162 food safety complaints, 3,868 after-sales service complaints, and 3,246 quality problem complaints. In terms of categories, the number of complaints about food, clothing, shoes, hats, and household goods ranked among the top, with 6,550, 1,682, and 991, respectively. The total proportion of the three major categories was 60.40%. In services, there were many complaints about catering and accommodation, Internet, and sales, which were 1,258, 718, and 557, respectively, accounting for 46.49% in total.

With the continuous improvement of the consumer environment and the availability of more convenient channels for safeguarding rights, consumers' legal awareness of protecting their rights has been strengthened. Proactive and rational rights protection in minor disputes has become the norm, and the public's inclination to turn to regulatory authorities to resolve consumer disputes has grown significantly. Meanwhile, profit-related complaints and reports account for a considerable proportion. Last year, Huai'an handled approximately 3,000 professional complaints and reports. Over 2,000 professional complaints and reports were filed in Qingjiangpu District, which has had a certain impact on normal supervision, law enforcement, and business operations.
