Since the 14th Five-Year Plan period, Huai'an City has consistently prioritized improving people's well-being. It has promoted the sharing of transportation development achievements among all people.
Public transportation services continue to upgrade. Huai'an has improved its bus network, adding more than 120 new and optimized routes. Moreover, the city has built over 120 bus stops for its residents' convenience, each equipped with standard shelters and seating. The waiting environment has been significantly improved. All the large-scale new rural communities and the towns included in the rural revitalization pilot zone across Huai'an are connected to urban and rural public transportation. The city has opened 13 bus routes to adjacent regions, achieving full coverage of the bus network in the province.
Its rural logistics service network has been improved constantly. The coverage rate of rural logistics service points at the county, town, and village levels has reached 100%. Twelve county-level rural logistics service centers, 73 township rural logistics service stations, and 1,295 village-level rural logistics service points have been built, and a total of 155 transportation and postal integration routes have been opened. Fourteen township passenger stations and 14 transportation and postal integration demonstration routes are running stably.
Comfortable highway travel has effectively benefited the people. The Yintu Smart Service Area on National Highway 344 has been completed and designated as a "Driver's Home" in Jiangsu Province. Eleven rural road stations have also been established. There are 591 video surveillance sites on ordinary national and provincial roads, as well as at all city highway entrances and exits. The road network monitoring density has increased from 2.05 kilometers/site at the end of the "13th Five-Year Plan" to 1.46 kilometers/site at the end of the "14th Five-Year Plan," efficiently empowering the development of various core highway businesses and emergency response work.
The transportation routes have also extended to the vast countryside. Since the "14th Five-Year Plan," Huai'an has invested RMB 3.675 billion to build and renovate 1,043 kilometers of rural roads and 154 bridges, and to implement 5,533 kilometers of security projects.
