On January 5, Huai'an City held its economic work conference and new industrialization promotion meeting. Shi Zhijun, Secretary of the CPC Huai'an Municipal Committee, attended the event and delivered remarks. He emphasized the need to thoroughly study and implement the guiding principles of the Central Economic Work Conference and President Xi Jinping's important expositions on new industrialization. He also called for unwavering commitment to advancing along the path of new industrialization, consolidating the upward momentum of the economy, and ensuring a strong start for the 15th Five-Year Plan period.

Additionally, Shi Zhijun emphasized the need to grasp the critical judgment that Huai'an has entered the mid-stage of industrialization, as well as the pivotal goal of "rebuilding industry in Huai'an within five years," and build upon the characteristics of this phase to accelerate the advancement of new industrialization. He proposed several priorities: focusing on projects and strengthening innovation to accelerate the generation of greater industrial output and economic growth; focusing on industries and strengthening clusters to build a competitive modern industrial system; focusing on enterprises and strengthening market entities to foster a tiered, well-structured ecosystem for business development; focusing on counties and strengthening industrial parks to elevate the city's overall industrial performance; focusing on services and strengthening advantages to better support industrial advancement.

Mayor Gu Kun emphasized the need to concentrate more efforts on driving breakthroughs in advancing new industrialization. He called for more strategies and measures to improve the input-output ratio and comprehensive contribution of projects, strengthen the dual-drive approach integrating project attraction and cultivation with technological innovation, and persistently pursue both external attraction and internal cultivation to further enhance the professionalism and precision of project attraction and development. He also proposed more concentrated organizational support, better coordination of resources and capabilities, and efforts to specify responsibilities and consolidate collective strength. He urged that further efforts be taken to continuously improve the business environment in Huai'an, where entrepreneurs can invest with confidence, develop with peace of mind, and live comfortably.

Also at the event, the city's top 30 enterprises by manufacturing scale and top 10 enterprises by investment in 2025 were honored.
