In recent years, Huai'an City has closely focused on the main line of high-quality development in the food industry, continuously promoting the in-depth extension of the industrial chain while steadily improving service efficiency and product quality.

Efforts have been focused on supporting distinctive industries. Huai'an hosted the Congress of Action on Clinical Nutrition 2025 and the First National Special Food Science Popularization Grassroots Campaign, signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement with the China Nutrition and Health Food Association, and established a "dual special team" model led by the government and guided by experts to accelerate the industry development of the foods for special medical purposes (FSMPs). The Key Laboratory of Cancer FSMP, State Administration for Market Regulation has established a clinical research center and a joint research center in Huai'an.

Efforts have been made to enhance industrial quality. The "Huai'an Premium Products" initiative has been implemented, assisting 215 enterprises in completing technological upgrades, with over 75% of products having optimized formulations and the number of high-quality products increasing to 318. Standards for products such as crayfish seasoning and chicken cake have been formulated or revised. Efforts have also been made to promote the inclusion of "Huai'an Common Cattail" and "Chahe Rice" on the national list of geographical indication products. Across the city, there are now 132 geographical indication trademarks covering 63 categories of agricultural products.

Efforts have been made to build integrated production and marketing platforms. A total of 72 "Huaiyang Delicacies—From Source to Market" exhibitions and sales events for high-quality agricultural products were held, promoting the inclusion of premium products on campus food procurement platforms and continuously advancing initiatives that benefit both farmers and the public. Production-marketing matchmaking meetings were also organized, driving growth in online sales.

Huai'an City will continue to support the extension of the industrial chain, further strengthen regulatory services, actively improve the model of social co-governance, and continuously optimize the food industry ecosystem, thereby safeguarding higher-quality and faster development of the food industry.
