Huai'an City Delivers a Satisfactory Performance in Its Volunteer Services in the New Era
time:2025-12-16

In recent years, Huai'an City has continuously improved the volunteer service system and mechanism to promote the expansion of volunteer service work into new areas. The city has more than 6,000 volunteer service teams and more than 1.3 million volunteers.

Huai'an City has gathered diverse forces and carried out brand activities, such as bird-watching and care activities, as well as free formaldehyde testing, through the "Six Together" Ecological and Environmental Protection Volunteer Service Alliance, to widely mobilize social participation. Leveraging the smart community platform, Huai'an has implemented a points-based incentive mechanism to stimulate enthusiasm for volunteer services. A comprehensive volunteer service system spanning culture and tourism, transportation, disability assistance, and other sectors has been established, continuously expanding the "circle of friends" in volunteer services.

Focusing on brand building, Huai'an City has issued a three-year enhancement action plan named "The Ancient Canal Knows Love, Volunteer Services in Huai'an." In addition, ten flagship projects, including "Love Fills Huai'an with Innovation" and "Neighbors Help Neighbors," have been launched, forming a matrix of volunteer service brands. The city has 63 registered key projects, spanning areas such as public welfare assistance, ecological and environmental protection, and health care. National and provincial advanced volunteer service models have emerged, driving practical actions through exemplary leadership.

In expanding service scenarios, Huai'an City is steadfastly advancing care services for the elderly and children, as well as the disabled and disadvantaged. Pilot projects combining professional social work with volunteer services are underway, gradually establishing a community governance model characterized by joint development, co-governance, and shared benefits. By organizing convenient community activities around events, festivals, and key milestones, and engaging university volunteers to assist, Huai'an has effectively bridged the "last mile" of public services.

Today, volunteerism is thriving in Huai'an—mechanisms are continually being improved, teams are expanding, fields of service are effectively broadening, and the reputation of the volunteer brand is shining ever brighter.
